Today I want to tell you about a statement made by the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch about people shapely.
Mike Jeffries, said sex sells. And skinny people are sexy.
“That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores,” he said.
“Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we
want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone
other than that.”
“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are
the not-so-cool kids,” he said in an interview with Salon. “Candidly,
we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid
with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong
[in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary?
Absolutely.”
Jeffries competitors like H&M and American Eagle aren’t so
exclusionary, offering XL and XXL sizes for both women and men.
Abercrombie’s largest size of women’s pants are 10, while H&M offers
a size 16. American Eagle pant go up to size 18.
Jeffries explained that his exclusionary approach is strictly business.
“Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody:
young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t
alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either,” he said.
After reading these harsh and even stupid statements, I have wondered what they thought about the boys.Well
as always the males said that curvy women are much sexier than those
very thin, but then why put at the head of the young people who already
are inundated daily by millions of images of perfection further
anxieties appearance?!
Personally
in the past I often bought clothes Abercrombie, but the fact of
carrying a 40 does not put me in a position to feel like a super lucky
girl, because kg as the sizes are not everything in life.I have known many girls who have suffered from anorexia, is the image that the media require us to follow is not real!!Keep in shape by eating healthy and doing sports is one thing we must do for ourselves, for our health. And
it is only and only when it comes to health that should be condemned kg
too much, not when it comes to some healthy Extra Pounds especially in
that we women just makes it more feminine.
I do not support at all these stupid statements of Mike Jeffries.and
his words affect in a negative way and incites young people to bullying
and social exclusion, and for this reason should be fought.
I invite other bloggers, women and girls, curvy or not, if you pass in front of a store of Abercrombie - anywhere in the world! - Take a picture with a sign that expresses your pride curvy and share it!I have been for two years with a guy who told me that I was not skinny ... and I pointed out all my fault ... and at the end you know what I told him?!?! That I had a big butt, I was not toned and sporty like him ... I had cellulite and I had a thousand other defects .... but that its difference I am a beautiful person inside, true, full of true values , happy and proud of what I am ... and that he would not ever been.
Women are
beautiful as we are, that will not be those 7 kg more to make us less
intelligent, beautiful or fascinating. We learn to love our flaws. It's not worth getting sick for the appearance or because the others did not make us feel adequate.
Love your body girls ...
slim, curvy, high low, blondes, brunettes red .... you are always beautiful by the mere fact of being yourself!Come
on, girls demonstrated how much you're shining ... and all those who
like this little guy Jeffries criticize you .. well you respond with a
smile ... which is surely the most beautiful curve on our body.
With love
Kiss kiss
R.
